From time to time you may be asked to attend a phlebotomy to have your bloods taken. This might form part of your on-going care for a long term condition or it may be as part of an investigation into an acute illness. There are three ways you can access phlebotomy services.
Most of the practice's phlebotomy is provided by Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, who provide community phlebotomy services across the local area. This is a service commisioned by the Lancashire and South Cumbria, Integrated Care Board. Any feedback regarding this service should be fed back to them directly, their contact details can be found on their website.
The practice provides community phlebotomy services in-house on a Tuesday and Friday morning. There is also some limited availability with practice staff outside of these times, but these are limited and filled on a strictly first come, first served basis.
Patients may choose to attend Chorley Health Centre, on a Sunday or Monday. For those patients wanting to do this, they must book an appointment ahead of time, by telephoning Ingol Health Centre on 01772 777 430. Ingol Health Centre manage all the appointments for Chorley Health Centre.
Finally you may be asked to attend Chorley Hospital, Urgent Drop In Clinic. These are for urgent bloods only. This runs daily and is a sit and wait service.
